Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised a Study Visit on Population and Housing Census with the participation of 2 officials from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on 8 November 2021.

During the study visit, Mr. Mehmet Doğu Karakaya, Expert at Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), shared the experience of Turkey in conducting the population and housing census and the transformation journey from traditional to combined approach.

At the end of the study visit, SESRIC briefed the BBS delegation concerning the statistical activities under its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme and underlined its readiness to further the cooperation with BBS in the field of official statistics.
