SESRIC participated in the meeting of the Steering Committee for the Implementation of the OIC STI Agenda 2026 which was held virtually on 05 January 2022 and hosted by the OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH). H.E. Mr. Nebil DABUR, Director General of SESRIC and Mr. Mazhar Hussain, Director of Economic and Social Research Department represented the Centre thereat.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the members of the Steering Committee to evaluate the progress made towards the implementation of the STI Agenda 2026 and discuss ways and means for increasing the cooperation between members to fulfil the mandate of the Steering Committee.

H.E. Mr. Nebil DABUR addressed the meeting and apprised the participants of the Centre’s activities and programmes geared towards the implementation of the OIC STI Agenda 2026. In this regard, Mr. DABUR underlined that SESRIC has implemented 60 activities since March 2019 including training courses, workshops, webinars, consultative meetings and research studies under 6 priority areas of OIC STI Agenda 2026 covering the domains of Education and skill development (Priority 2), Water (Priority 3), Health (Priority 4), Higher education and research (Priority 5), Big data (Priority 7) and Environment (priority 9).
