SESRIC participated in the 44^th Meeting of the Sessional Committee of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC). The objective of the meeting was to review and coordinate the activities and programmes of OIC institutions and to report to COMCEC Sessions.

The meeting was chaired by the COMCEC Coordination Office and attended by representatives from the OIC institutions, including Islamic Centre for the Development of Trade (ICDT), Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), Standards and Metrology Institute of Islamic Countries (SMIIC), and Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD).

During the meeting, Dr. Nenden Octavarulia SHANTY, Director of Training and Technical Cooperation at SESRIC, provided an overview of SESRIC’s activities aligned with the COMCEC Strategy and Ministerial Policy Recommendations. She highlighted SESRIC’s projects selected for funding in 2024 in the areas of agriculture, poverty alleviation, and tourism. Additionally, she discussed preparations for the annual report on monitoring progress towards the achievement of prioritised Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in OIC member countries to be submitted to the 40^th Ministerial Session of the COMCEC.

Moreover, concerning the contributions of the OIC institutions for the benefit of Palestinian People/Al-Quds Sharif as well as geographically distant OIC countries and observer countries, Dr. SHANTY emphasized SESRIC’s ongoing efforts to mobilise staff from national institutions from these countries to participate in and benefit from various activities organised by the Centre within the scope of its mandate areas

Representatives from other OIC institutions also shared pertinent information about their activities and efforts with the Committee.
