SESRIC and the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster enhanced cooperation in Istanbul, Türkiye. Signed by H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK and H.E. Dr. Ahmed AL SHAIKH, Chief Executive Officer of BIBF, this MoU aims to establish a framework for cooperation and enhance collaboration between the parties in areas of mutual interest.

In her remarks, H.E. SELÇUK thanked the Participation Banks Association of Türkiye (TKBB) for hosting the Signing Ceremony. H.E. SELÇUK noted that this collaboration would contribute to supporting OIC Member Countries in developing strong Islamic Banking and Finance sectors. H.E. SELÇUK as well focused on the statistics, research and training activities of SESRIC with a focus on Islamic Banking and Finance. H.E. SELÇUK concluded her remarks by underlining the role of TKBB in advancing participation banking in Türkiye and abroad. 

H.E. Dr. Ahmed AL SHAIKH, Chief Executive Officer of BIBF, highlighted their efforts in advancing the banking and finance sector in Bahrain and other countries. He expressed BIBF’s desire in further extending their support to the OIC countries, in collaboration with SESRIC, through knowledge and expertise exchange. 

The Ceremony ended with both parties acknowledging the importance of joint efforts on mutual areas of interest, aiming to ensure a sustainable and competitive Islamic Banking and Finance sector across the OIC Member Countries.
