Within the framework of its Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC, in collaboration with the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT), will organise a Training Course on “Monetary and Financial Statistics” on 07-08 November 2024.

The training course will be provided by competent experts from CBRT for the benefit of the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and other relevant stakeholders in the National Statistical System (NSS) of the OIC countries.

The main objective of the training course is to enhance the capacity of the participants in understanding and applying statistical methodologies and best practices in the area of monetary and financial statistics.

This includes, among others, the following topics to be covered during the training course:

• Monthly Money and Banking Statistics and Money Supply
• Deposits and Loans Interest Rates
• Securities Statistics
• Financial Accounts: An Overview and Turkish Case
• Financial Sector Data
• Debit and Credit Cards: Sectoral Expenditure Statistics

The StatCaB Programme was initiated in early 2007 as the flagship capacity development programme of SESRIC. Within the framework of the StatCaB Programme, the Centre collects information from the NSOs of OIC member countries through the biennial StatCaB Questionnaire, assesses their statistical training needs and capacities, matches these needs and capacities, and organises statistical capacity development activities between the beneficiary and provider countries.
