Training Course on ‘Designing and Implementing National Vocational Qualifications Framework for TVET Institutions’

SESRIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Malaysia, organised a virtual Training Course on “Designing and Implementing National Vocational Qualifications Framework for TVET Institutions”  within the framework of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for the Member Countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-VET) and in line with the OIC-TVET Strategic Roadmap 2020-2025.

This training course was provided by competent experts from the Technical Vocational Education and Training Division of the Ministry of Education of Malaysia for the benefit of 29 participants from 12 OIC countries.

The main objective of the training course was to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop and implement a national vocational qualifications framework within TVET institutions. This included understanding the principles of qualification frameworks, designing competency-based qualifications, and establishing quality assurance mechanisms for TVET programmes. The course also aimed to enhance the capacity of TVET experts in member countries to improve the relevance, quality, and effectiveness of vocational education and training.

The training course covered the following key topics:

  • Comprehensive Curriculum Development and alignment in TVET
  • Policy, Governance and Sustainability for NVQF Implementation in TVET Institution
  • Quality Assurance and Accreditation in TVET: Ensuring Excellence through National Vocational Qualifications Frameworks
  • Branding: Promoting Positive Community Perception towards TVET
  • Creating a Skilled Workforce: The NVQF Approach to Industry Challenges
