Training Course on ‘Innovations in Cotton Genetics: Enhancing Yield and Resilience’
Date: 11-12 March 2025
Venue: Virtual-SESRIC, Ankara - Türkiye

Within the framework of its Cotton Capacity Building Programme (Cotton-CaB), SESRIC will organize a Training Course on “Innovations in Cotton Genetics: Enhancing Yield and Resilience” on 11-12 March 2025. The course will be conducted by leading experts from the University of the Punjab, Pakistan.

This training course aims to explore recent advancements in cotton genetics, with a focus on innovative techniques such as CRISPR-Cas, RNA interference (RNAi), and transgenic technologies to improve yield, resilience, and pest resistance.

Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of genome editing, regulatory challenges, and sustainable pest control strategies. Through interactive sessions, experts in the field will share insights through, case studies, and discussions, fostering knowledge exchange among researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals.

Additionally, it will highlight emerging trends in genetic engineering and their potential applications in strengthening cotton production and ensuring agricultural sustainability.
