Workshop on 'Membrane Technologies for Desalination and Wastewater'

SESRIC participated in the Workshop on “Membrane Technologies for Desalination and Wastewater” organized by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) on 26 February 2025 in Islamabad, Pakistan. Over 130 participants from OIC countries, including Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan, Senegal, Türkiye, and Yemen participated in workshop.

During the workshop, SESRIC delivered an in-depth presentation titled “SESRIC’s Capacity Building Initiatives in the Water Domain”. The presentation covered the SESRIC mandate and its key focus areas, particularly highlighting the organizational initiatives related to water management. The activities of SESRIC encompass statistics and information collection and dissemination, economic and social research reports, and broad training and technical cooperation efforts. Additionally, the presentation highlighted the importance of collaboration on water-related projects and endeavours initiated by SESRIC, which include the OIC Water Portal and partnerships in training and technical cooperation.

The workshop facilitated knowledge exchange among experts and policymakers, fostering discussions on scientific innovations, institutional linkages, and regional cooperation to improve access to clean and reliable water sources.
