H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK Meets with H.E. Ahmed BEN SGHAIER, Ambassador of Tunisia to the Republic of Türkiye

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E. Ahmed BEN SGHAIER, Ambassador of Tunisia to the Republic of Türkiye in Ankara. The meeting served as a platform to further strengthen the longstanding cooperation between SESRIC and Tunisia, with a particular focus on SESRIC’s capacity-building (CaB) programmes.

During the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK highlighted SESRIC’s commitment to strengthening institutional capacities across OIC Member Countries through its 24 sector-specific capacity-building programmes. With a strong focus on technical cooperation, SESRIC has implemented 231 activities benefiting 374 participants from Tunisia, including training courses, workshops, and network meetings. Tunisia remains an active partner, with over 2,230 SESRIC-led activities benefiting more than 370 participants from key national institutions such as ANETI, TOSHI, and CENAFFIF, among others.

In addition to capacity-building activities, SESRIC is dedicated to advancing statistical research and data collection across OIC Member Countries. The Centre works closely with the National Institute of Statistics (INS) of Tunisia, ensuring productive and efficient collaboration in gathering and analysing key statistical indicators. This partnership contributes significantly to data-driven policy formulation and evidence-based decision-making.

H.E. BEN SGHAIER expressed his appreciation for SESRIC’s continued commitment to supporting Tunisia’s institutional development, highlighting the tangible impact of its training and technical cooperation initiatives. He emphasized the importance of further strengthening this collaboration to enhance expertise and knowledge exchange in key sectors. He also reaffirmed Tunisia’s readiness to contribute actively to the Centre’s ongoing programmes, highlighting the importance of fostering stronger collaboration in areas of mutual interest. He expressed his satisfaction with the SESRIC-Talks series initiative, acknowledging its role in facilitating knowledge exchange and policy dialogue among OIC countries. Furthermore, he commended SESRIC’s innovative approaches in capacity-building, research, and technical cooperation, emphasizing that such initiatives significantly enhance the effectiveness of development efforts across various sectors.

At the end of the meeting, both parties reiterated their mutual commitment to further leveraging SESRIC’s capacity-building initiatives to support Tunisia’s institutional development efforts and to foster impactful partnerships that contribute to sustainable development across OIC Countries.
