Study Visit on ‘Food Waste Management’
Date: 22-23 September 2025
Venue: Ankara - Türkiye

SESRIC, in collaboration with the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), the COMCEC Coordination Office (CCO), and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye, will jointly organise a Study Visit on “Food Waste Management” on 22-23 September 2025, on the margins of the 25th COMCEC Agriculture Working Group Meeting in Ankara.

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Agriculture and Food Security Capacity Building Programme (Agri-CaB), the study visit aims to address the food loss and waste (FLW) issue in improving food security, mitigating environmental impacts and resource utilisation in six targeted Caucasian and Central Asian countries (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) as well as the other OIC countries participating in the aforementioned COMCEC Working Group Meeting through a first-hand exchange of best practices and lessons learnt from the Republic of Türkiye.

SESRIC launched the Agriculture and Food Security Capacity Building Programme (Agri-CaB) in 2011 with the aim of supporting and contributing to the efforts of the OIC member countries towards enhancing the institutional and human capacities of their national institutions and achieving sustainable agricultural development and food security.
