Within the framework of SESRIC Water Resources Management Capacity Building Programme (Water-CaB), SESRIC, the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) will jointly organise a Workshop on “Enhancing Water Resources for Sustainable Food Security” on 11 March 2026.

The workshop aims to deepen understanding of the interlinkages between water resources management and sustainable food security. It will provide a platform for sharing national and regional experiences, policies, and good practices in water-efficient agricultural systems and climate-smart approaches to water use. The discussions will also explore opportunities for regional cooperation and joint initiatives between ECO and OIC Member Countries.

SESRIC developed the Water Resources Management Capacity Building Programme (Water-CaB) in 2015, with the aim of enhancing capacities of human resources in the OIC Member Countries in the domain of water.
