H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK convened a bilateral meeting with Dr. Mohammed bin Saud bin Abdulaziz AL-MOQBEL, Director General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), on the margins of the OECD Skills Summit 2026 held in İstanbul to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation in the fields of education and training.

At the meeting, Dr. AL-MOQBEL underlined the strategic role of ABEGS in advancing education systems across the Gulf region through its network of specialized centres and academic institutions. In this context, these platforms serve as practical avenues for cooperation initiatives and facilitating expertise sharing across their mutual member countries.

In response, H.E. SELÇUK stated that SESRIC research and statistical capacity building initiatives aimed at strengthening national education systems. She further emphasized the importance of building strong ties that contribute to shared educational goals. H.E. SELÇUK reaffirmed her commitment to deepening institutional cooperation with ABEGS.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing their mutual interest in maintaining close coordination and exploring concrete opportunities to expand cooperation, paving the way for impactful partnerships that support skills development and socio-economic progress across the region.
