Upon requests by OIC General Secretariat, relevant OIC meetings and bodies as well as based on independent evaluation of the research department, the Centre prepares reports in various fields of interest to the member countries. Although these reports are not prepared on a regular basis, they can be occasionally revised to keep them updated.

The financial crisis which started in July 2007, when investors lost their confidence in the value of securitised mortgages in the United States, has been deepened during 2008-2009 with a global reach and affecting a wide range of financial and economic activities and institutions in both developed and developing countries around the world.
