SESRIC and International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) conducted this joint research study to assess the potential impacts of trade facilitation measures on intra-AfCFTA trade flows in five landlocked African OIC Member Countries, namely Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Niger and Uganda. The study employs a diverse set of data and rigorous methodology to investigate gains from trade facilitation and improved logistics infrastructure in these selected countries by simulating an improvement in their index scores to the African and/or world average.
SESRIC and the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), a member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, jointly prepared this outlook report in line with the recommendations of the 44th Session of the Islamic Commission for Economic, Cultural and Social Affairs (ICECS), which was held on 11-13 January 2022 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
SESRIC, in cooperation with the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), published a thematic paper on “South-South Cooperation and the Gender Equality Factor in the Emerging Multilateralism”. The paper highlights the potential of South-South cooperation (SSC) in catalysing efforts towards the recognition of women’s role in sustainable development and the achievement of gender equality in the Global South.
